About The Fibro Clinic South West
Based in Barnstaple, North Devon, The Fibro Clinic South West offers a much needed resource for women diagnosed with fibromylagia. We offer a range of services to include free support groups, affordable workshops, treatments and a bespoke self-help programme, “the fibro tool kit”. The inspiration for the clinic comes from the founder Jok Saunders, diagnosed with fibromyalgia who understands too well what it is to live with the disruption to life caused by an invisible illness with symptoms such as:
Sensory overload and heightened sensitivity (visual/touch/smell/noise/pain)
IBS and digestion problems
Low mood / Depression
Intolerances / Allergies
The Clinic offers Fibromyalgia Support in numerous ways:
Believing in your uniqueness is our fundamental core and we understand the value of SUPPORT and feeling confident that you can share any concerns about your illness without judgement. Receiving a diagnosis, learning to live with an invisible chronic condition is a life changing process, grieving, letting go and acceptance of the imposed limitations has a ripple effect throughout, not only our own lives, but also family, social and career. The fibromyalgia support groups are very popular held in small confidential groups where you can discuss concerns and ask questions, a place to talk freely and feel validated.

Jok Saunders, the founder of the clinic, brings many years of experience working in various organisations, NHS and private practice as a holistic health practitioner and a trained counsellor and group facilitator of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping). In more recent years Jok’s life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and cancer. Continuing her personal development and following her passion Jok studied Pain Management and trained in Mindfulness. Recent achievements include developing a bespoke fibromyalgia self-management program and creating her own model, S.T.A.R.S.
